STARK SOARS TO NASCAR REGIONAL MOD WIN
WISCONSIN DELLS, WI — Hometown hero Jason Stark put on a masterclass performance, outshining a stacked field to claim victory in the Blystone Towing NASCAR Regional Modifieds during the 64th Annual Gandrud Performance Parts Season Opener at Dells Raceway Park.
The 25-lap main event began with Brad Warthan and Corey Swanson leading a stunning field of Modifieds to the green flag. Warthan jumped out to an early lead, maintaining his composure while the pack battled fiercely behind him.
However, all eyes were on the night’s fast qualifier, Jason Stark. After clocking a blistering 14.237-second lap in time trials, Stark started deep in the field in the 10th position. He wasted no time slicing through traffic, reaching Warthan's rear bumper by lap 10. Stark executed a decisive pass for the lead and never looked back, checking out on the field and driving away into the Wisconsin night.
Larry DeVito mounted a late-race charge to secure a strong second-place finish, while Bill Tandetke crossed the line in third. Defending track champion Matt Pate and early leader Brad Warthan rounded out the top five.
Earlier in the evening, Justin Okrulica took home the trophy in the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash, while Chuck Muller and Bill Prietzel topped the heat race events.
The Blystone Towing NASCAR Regional Modifieds will return to action on May 23rd as a featured part of the Lyle Nabbefeldt Tribute Night at DRP.
