DAWSON SCORES DRP BANDIT MAIN

Wisconsin Dells WI-Friendship Wisconsin’s Taylor Dawson scored the first Doug’s Northside Auto Bandits return to Feature of 2025. The Bandits brought a close to the 63rd Annual DRP Season Opener Presented by The Country Plumber. The 20 lap event started with Rookie Jason Lucht and Nate Kruschke bringing the 18 car field to the green. Lucht would take the initial lead as the field jostled for position behind him. The first challenger to Lucht came in the form of the 2024 Champion Jeremy Bredeson, Bredeson would make the pass and bring Chris Gottschalk with him. Taylor Dawson the night’s quick qualifier (16.741) would work through the pack to run 3rd as the laps fell away. Bredeson and Gottschalk would catch lapped traffic battling for position with 3 to go. Bredeson tried to make the initial move to clear and paid for it as he would tangle with the lapper brining the caution and an end to his night. It was a 3 lap shootout for Dawson and Gottschalk as they would go door to door for the win with Dawson claiming the victory at the line by .011 seconds at the line over Gottschalk. Tyler Vincetich would finish third followed by Jim Rhode and Ethan Rose. Chris Gottschalk won the Fast Dash as the heats were won by Travis Atkinson and Ron Myers. The night’s lone B main was won by Chad Bortz. The Doug’s Northside Auto Bandits return to action next week for Jose’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant Night at the Races where all Ladies admission will be just five dollars in honor of Mother’s Day weekend.
