PRUNTY CAPTURES INAUGURAL 602 LATE MODEL TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Wisconsin Dells WI 10/22/22-Dennis Prunty of Allenton, WI would fight hard to secure a 3rd place finish in the season finale at the Dells Raceway Park Falloween event and capture the Inaugural 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour Championship over Tom Carlson by 16 points, Jason Stark of Sparta went on to win the Falloween feature event. Prunty captured 4 wins on the 22-Tour, the season opening Icebreaker at Dells Raceway Park, The Joe Shear event held at Madison International Speedway, and both events held this year at Slinger Speedway.

Twenty 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour Cars took the green for the 25 lap season finally. Charlie Bates and Bryce Miller brought the field to the green with Miller gaining the immediate advantage. Dennis Prunty and Tom Carlson would start deep in the field and attempt to race forward towards a Title. An early pile up into turn 3 would snare the title contenders as both would have to go to the pit area to make repairs after heavy contact. At the front Bryce Miller had his hands full trying to fight off the newly minted 2022 DRP Weekly Outlaw Late Model Champion Jason Stark and through a series of stop and start cautions and restarts Stark was able to better the young racer to lead in the waning laps. The two championship contenders would battle through the field damage and all missing multiple wrecks in this war of attrition. Jason Stark would cap off an incredible day with another feature win. Bryce miller would finish runner up, Dennis Prunty would fight hard to secure a 3rd place finish and the Inaugural 602 Outlaw Late Model Tour Championship as Tom Carlson would finish in 4th. Rookie of the Year winner Alex Hartwig would round out the top five. Prunty was also crowned The 2022 Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash Champion for the Tour.
