KINSEY CROWNED HSRA DRP KING

Wisconsin Dells WI 8/27/22-The High School Racing Association invaded Dells Raceway Park for the final time in the 2022 on Fan Appreciation night. Devin Lee and Mitchell Berg brought the young group of racers to the green for their 18 lap main event presented by Jose’s Mexican Restaurant. Berg would grab the early lead and try to gap the field. Ryatt Dobbratz would climb from row 2 to be the first challenger ultimately unable to gain the top spot. Landin Frye and Ashton Kinsey would climb from deep in the field to eventually take the top spots and battle for the win. Caution would fly to create a green white checkered finish. It was the stuff of movies as the 2022 HSRA DRP Championship would come down to a restart with the point’s leader by 1 point Landin Frye on the inside and the high side hustling Ashton Kinsey (2nd on points) on the outside. The two would fire out of the Dell Prairie Auto body Restart zone locked in a side by side battle and it would stay a dead heat all the way too the checkers. Ashton Kinsey would win the drag race and the Championship by .121 seconds at the line. When the dust settled Kinsey was followed to the line by Landin Frye, Curtis Hellickson, Ryatt Dobbratz, and Devin Lee. Ashton Kinsey was the winner of the lone heat for the High School Racing Association.
