Dave Rottiger Tribute Popular with Drivers
Wisconsin Dells WI 9/23/21-The Midwest Championship weekend is upon us and with over 200 drivers heading to Dells Raceway Park for three days of action packed racing this Friday, Saturday & Sunday Sept 24th,25th & 26th the weekend kicks off with one of the drivers favorite events of the year, The Dave Rottiger Memorial Tribute night on Friday Night at 7pm. Dave Rottiger and his wife Joann spent all their free time making Wisconsin short tracks better. The pair of them worked at one time or another not only at Dells Raceway Park but Madison Speedway, Jefferson Speedway, Slinger Speedway and Columbus 151 Speedway, Dave as a flagman or competition director and you could always find Joann in the tower doing everything from making calls on the race track to scoring, payroll, & points standings, racing was their life. After Joann lost her battle with cancer in Aug of 2014 Dave came back home to Dells Raceway Park as part time flagman & competition director. In Oct of 2016 Dave would lean he too had cancer and we lost Dave on May 12th, 2017. Dave always loved when a driver would win their first feature event and would be one of the first to congratulate them so with that this Friday we invite all the drivers in the Midwest in six divisions who have not yet won a Feature event in 2021 to try their luck at DRP, a special night where every driver who wins, will win their first feature event of the 2021 season. Fans Gates will open at 4pm with qualifying at 5:30 and racing at 7pm. Six divisions will be in competition including CWRA Super Late Models, Late Models, Bandits, Sportsman, Mods and INEX Legends.
Tickets Day of Show are Adults $15 seniors, students & military are just $12, Family Pass is just $40 and Little Race Fans 12 & Under are FREE!!
