MIKE SANDHOLM SCORES NASCAR REGIONAL MOD WIN AT DRP

Wisconsin Dells WI-Mike Sandholm of Oconomowoc, WI held off a furious final charge by Weston Marthaler to win the Advanced Auto Parts NASCAR Weekly Blystone Towing Mods Feature on Ride for a Brother Night Presented by Our House Senior Living in Wisconsin Dells. A pair of 55’s Chuck Muller and Larry Devito brought the beautiful field of Mods to the line for the 25 lap Feature. The pair would fight for the early advantage but it wouldn’t take long for defending Modified Champion Matt Pate to climb to the top spot and try to get away. Mike Sandholm who started from the outside row three would not only chase down but pass Pate for the lead as laps fell away. Weston Marthaler running a limited schedule in the Mod would give Sandholm his biggest challenge in the final lap as the two would make contact on the exit of turn 4 creating a drag race to the line. Sandholm would win followed closely by Marthaler, Pate , Steven Schultz and Dave Edwards. Weston Marthaler was Fastest Qualifier for the night and the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash was won by Matt Clossey, While the heat race was won by Bil Tandetzke.
