WESTON MARTHALER CAPTURES FIRST CAREER LATE MODEL WIN

Wisconsin Dells WI-Glenwood, Minnesota Rookie Pilot Weston Marthaler broke through for his first career Gandrud Performance Parts Late Model Feature win on R&R Doors Night at the Races. Starting from the inside row six by virtue of his fast qualifying effort Marthaler immediately went to work climbing through the field in the 35 lap event. A late race incident would set the stage for a single file restart with 6 laps to go. Marthaler would restart 3rd and fire to the front with 3 to go driving away to the big feature win. Marthaler was followed to the line by Mahlon Borntreger, Nick Nolden, Jesse Bernhagen and Steve Lichtfeld. Penn Sauter would win the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash with the heat wins going to Tod Stenson and Laney Osborne. With 2 nights remaining in the fight for the Gandrud Performance Parts Late Model 2024 Championship Mike Lichtfeld holds a 71 point advantage over Nick Nolden. The Gandrud Performance Parts Late Models are back in action next week as part of the Walbeck Classic Presented by Auto Value Parts Stores.
