FOURTH UMA MOD MAIN FOR MARTHALER

Wisconsin Dells WI-Glenwood Minnesota’s Weston Marthaler continued his dominance of the UMA Modified class in the Auto Value Parts Stores 30 lap main event. Brian Muick and Dave Edwards brought the strong field of asphalt Mods to the line for their feature race. Muick would jump out to the early lead with Edwards in tow the two would battle for the top spot with Muick holding the advantage. Edwards would stay in the fight but would inexplicably leave the track in the midst if the fight. This would open the door for a fast working Weston Marthaler to chase down the 50 all the way from his 9th starting spot. By lap 9 Marthaler was at the bumper and by lap 10 he was to the lead. From then on the race was for second as Brett Wachowiacz, Bill Prietzel and Brad Wildes got into the top five to fight it out. A late caution would bring the 7 of Wachowiacz to the tail of the 100 but Marthaler was untouchable as he drove away under the bright lights at DRP for his 4th feature win of 2023. He was followed to the line by Wachowiacz, Prietzel, Wildes and Muick. Marthaler was your fast time qualifier with a lap of 14.397. Brett Wachowiacz won the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash while Brian Muick won the heat race. The UMA Asphalt Mods return to DRP August 19th as part of the Brewster’s Lanes of Reedsburg Pro Late Model Triple Crown Round 3.
