BIRDSILL CAPTURES KALAHARI 25 SPORTSMAN MAIN
Wisconsin Dells WI-Brandon Birdsill scored his first Feature win of 2023 on Kalahari Resort and Convention Center Night at DRP. Mitch Lyden and Michael Giloman brought the beautiful field of UMA Sportsman to the line for their 25 Lap Feature. Lyden would jump out to the early lead and was challenged early for the lead by Mike Krueger Jr. the two would battle hard until Krueger would finally gain the advantage. Krueger’s time at the Front would be short lived as Nick Bruley would climb from his 7th starting spot to take the lead just past the half way mark. While the battles at the front raged on the trio of Brandon Birdsill , Chris Weber and points leader Dave Trute worked methodically through the field. Birdsill would get to the second spot and challenge for the lead. The late laps of the race would see a rash of cautions as it was an onslaught of restarts Bruley would have to endure. He was equal to the task for many but one last caution would fly with 4 to gowould be all the opening the defending champion Birdsill would need as he took the lead for the final time with a mere 3 laps to go. Birdsill walked away to the victory followed to the line by Chris Weber, Dave Trute Nick Bruley and Michael Gilomen. Brandon Birdsill would be fast qualifier with a lap of 14.839. Chris weber would Win the Fast Dash with Mike Krueger Jr. winning the heat race. The UMA Sportsman are next in action at DRP as part of the Pro Late Model Triple Crown Round 3 Presented by Brewster’s Lanes on August 19th.
