HARTWING CAPTURES FIRST UMA 602 OUTLAW WIN

Wisconsin Dells WI-Portage Young gun Alex Hartwig shakes off a rough start to the season to claim the 35 lap A-Main for the 602 Outlaw Late Models at Dells Raceway Park Saturday Night Presented by Performance Parts Supply. Larry Middleton and Charlie Bates would bring the strong field of Outlaws to the stripe on a hot and steamy Saturday Night at DRP. Middleton would take off to the initial lead with Rookie Pilot Tanner Berge in tow. Middleton would lead the first dozen laps before Berge would catch and pass for the lead with just over 20 laps to go. Meanwhile the 901 of Alex Hartwig would be calculated and aggressive on his march forward from his 7th starting spot as he would not allow Berge to enjoy a long run up front. Hartwig would swing past Berge on the low side and spring out to a good size lead as the laps wound down. Allenton’s Dennis Prunty would pull past Berge for second with a dozen laps to go and although he was faster than the 901 at times the lead built by Hartwig was too much to overcome for the veteran driver Prunty. Hartwig would cruise into the DRP Sunset for the win. Prunty would finish second followed by Berge, Ethan Rose and Pete Moore. Randy Sargent would rocket to fast time with a lap of 14.268. Rookie Driver Tanner Berge would claim the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash with the heat race going to Minnesota’s Maddie Larson. The 602 Outlaw Late Models are Back in Action July 15th as part of the Chasing Daylight Animal Shelter Night at the Races.
