FENHAUS WINS A THRILLER AT THE DELLS TRICKLE 99

Wisconsin Dells WI-Luke Fenhaus put on a short track show as he won the Alive for 5 Trickle 99 Saturday Night at Dells Raceway Park Presented by Lube USA in spectacular fashion with a late race pass of Gabe Sommers for the win. Nick Egan and Braden Berge brought a stacked field of Super Late Models to the line to begin the Trickle 99. Berge would take the initial lead as the field immediately went into auto combat behind them. Jordan DeVoy would be the first to challenge for the lead and at the start of lap five the Lake Geneva Driver would claim the top spot. Top qualifiers Gabe Sommers and Luke Fenhaus would crack the top five and go into a three way battle with Berge for third. On lap 22 caution would fly as Fenhaus would fire to the inside of Sommers and make contact sending both drivers into the spin cycle. Fenhaus would take the blame for the incident as he tapped out giving Sommers back his spot in third and sending the point’s leader to the rear of the field. On the restart DeVoy would jump back out to the front and try to regain the lead lost by the caution and he would as he lead all the way to halfway before the 15 of Sommers could clear the upstart rookie Berge and chase down DeVoy.. After a brief fight it was Sommers turn to lead as he would power to a commanding lead. Meanwhile steadily through the pack of top tier race cars it was becoming apparent that Luke Fenhaus was the class of the field as he picked off the Midwest’s best Super Late Model drivers one at a time in rapid succession. With a mere 6 laps to go Fenhaus would clear DeVoy and set sail to close the 10 car length lead held by Gabe Sommers. Fenhaus would rocket forward and land at the doorstep with 3 to go. Sommers was fast but Fenhaus was just too much as he would lead on the last 2 laps and win the Alive for 5 Trickle 99 Presented by Lube USA. He would take the Polish Victory Lap in honor of Alan Kulwicki in front of an excited DRP crowd. Fenhause remains the Alive for 5 Series point leader over Sommers by a mere 11 points and collected $5915 dollars for the win. Fenhaus was followed to the line by Gabe Sommers, Jordan DeVoy, Ryan Farrell and Barrett Polhemus. Gabe Sommers was quick qualifier with a lap of 13.334. The Alive for 5 Super Late Models Presented by Lube USA return to Dells Raceway Park August 12th for The Badger State 125.
