MARTHALER MARVELOUS IN DELLS UMA MODS

Wisconsin Dells WI-Weston Marthaler from Glenwood, MN returned to O’Reilly Auto Parts Victory Lane on Logan’s Heroes Night at the Races in the UMA Asphalt Mods. Dave Edwards and Dan Howard would bring the field to the green for their 25 lap Amain. Edwards would jump out to the early lead and attempt to drive away. Howard would fall into a fight with first time Mod driver Austin Powers the two would scrap for the spot as the field would rage behind them. Starting 6th on the field and rolling the topside effortlessly Weston Marthaler would immediately join the battle and put the move on Powers and Howard to pull into second and go after Edwards at the point. Meanwhile Brad Wildes and Defending Champion Matt Pate would work their way into the top 5. Marthaler would start an all-out assault on Edwards and with 11 laps to go he would clear the 5 and drive off into the sunset. There would be great battles for finishing positions as laps ran out but it was all Marthaler as he cruised to victory. He was followed to the line by Brad Wildes, Dave Edwards, Matt Pate and Dan Howard. Marthaler was fast time with a lap of 14.321. Brett Wachowiacz would claim the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash as the heat was won by Rick Devito. The UMA Asphalt Mods return to action at Dells Raceway Park July 8th as part of Blystone Towing and Recovery Night.
