LICHTFELD SCORES TRIPLE CROWN PRO LATE MODEL WIN

Wisconsin Dells WI-Mike Lichtfeld started his UMA Pro Late Model Championship Title defense with a win in the Thirsty Beaver Pub 50 A-Main. Thayran Rezin and Kevin Kulka brought a stacked field of Pro Late Models to the green for the first round of the Pro Late Model Triple Crown. Kulka would flex his muscle early and start to impressively pull away as the pack raged on behind him. The roll of the dice called for a big invert bringing the fast qualifiers from DEEP in the field. Kulka continued to dominate until the motor on the 25 car decided to detonate in the middle of turns one and two with 32 laps remaining. After an appearance by The Five Star Concrete and Excavating Lane choice battle Mike Lichtfeld who started 11th found himself 3rd on the restart. After the restart the 44 would work past the top two into the lead and start to pull away. With The top 5 in qualifying now solidly infiltrated into the mix the laps started to tick away as they battled hard a late caution would set the stage for a short shootout between Lichtfeld, Nick Nolden and fast qualifier Kendrick Kreyer. Kreyer would dispatch of Nolden and set his sights on the 44, but it was too late and the Trophy hunter was just too strong as he cruised to the victory he was followed to the line by Kendrick Kreyer, Nick Nolden, Mahlon Borntreger and Jesse Bernhagen. Kendrick Kreyer was fast qualifier out of the 25 Pro Late Models in attendance with a blistering lap of 14.005. Mike Lichtfeld won the Diamond Wheels Fast Dash. The heats were won by Clayton Storey and Kevin Kulka. Drew Bernhagen would win the B-Main he would be joined in the A-Main by Clayton Storey, Mike Morris and Ted Griffith. The UMA Pro Late Models return to action May 27 as part of the Lyle Nabbefeldt Tribute Night Featuring the CWRA Stars to Legends Super Late Models. Round 2 of the Pro Late Model Triple Crown presented by Logan’s Heroes Bar goes down June 19th at Dells Raceway Park.
