MARTHALER MASTERS UMA MODS AT DRP

Wisconsin Dells WI-Weston Marthaler of Glen comes from deep in the field to claim the UMA Asphalt Mod A-Main on Thirsty Beaver Pub Night at the races. Ralph Schneider and Brian Muick brought 15 top end Asphalt Mods to the stripe for their 25 lap main event. Schneider would take the early led while the car fight started immediately behind him. The 4 machine would work hard to keep the field at bay. The night’s fast qualifiers would move to the high side and start to make ground on the leaders. Weston Marthaler would start to make incredible gains just before half way as he passed 1 to 2 cars per corner on his march to the front. The 100 would pull even with the leader just as the 4 would lose the tail off of turn 4 taking himself and the hard charging youngster to the outside wall. After Schneider would make use of the tap out rule taking responsibility for the accident giving Marthaler his spot back with just over 10 laps to go. Marthaler would go back to work fighting off the late charges from Justin Okruhlica Brad Wildes and others but the Young hot shoe was up to the task taking the checkered flag for the night. Marthaler was followed to the line by Okruhlica, Wildes, Dan Howard and Brian Muick. Justin Okruhlica was the fast qualifier with a lap of 14.309. The Diamond race wheels Fast Dash was won by Dan “The Iceman” Howard. The Heat race was won by defending champion Matt Pate. The UMA Asphalt Mods return to action May 27th as part of the Lyle Nabbefeldt Tribute Night.
