Schulz Collects Ultimate Challenge Cash in Mod Main

Wisconsin Dells WI 7/10/21-Steven Schulz of Waukesha WI not only collected his first A-Main win of the season Saturday night at Dells Raceway Park in the UMA Mods, he also collected the Assembly Products Ultimate Challenge cash of $1000 to the Winner. David Swanson of Reedsburg WI and Russ Moberly of West Bend WI brought the field to green for the 30 lap event and ran side by side for the first five laps before Swanson grabbed the point. Swanson was then under heavy pressure from Freeport IL driver Brian Muick and Mauston WI driver Denny Schott. Schott would eventually win the three car battle for the lead and take the top spot from Swanson. Schott would lead thru the middle portion of the race until he started getting pressured by Schulz, Dave Edwards of Salem WI and the Veteran Bill Prietzel of Richfield WI. Schultz would make his move for the lead using lapped traffic to get by Schott and take the top spot for himself on lap 22 holding off Edwards and Prietzel for the win. Edwards finished second, Prietzel third with Jerry Blystone of Portage WI fourth and Schott would end up fifth. Earlier action saw Brad Wildes of Tomah fastest in qualifying with a time of 14.320 82.961mph. Bill Prietzel won the Diamond Wheels Fast Dash, and Brian Muick was the winner in the Blystone Towing & Recovery Heat Race.
