Birdsill Fly's to Sportsman Victory at DRP

Wisconsin Dells WI 7/10/21-Brandon Birdsill of Reedsburg won his first A-Main event of the season Saturday at Dells Raceway Park on Blystone Towing & Recovery Night by holding off point leader Chris Weber of Cashton, WI. The win vaulted Birdsill into second place in the season standing just 26 point behind Weber.

John Zuch of Baraboo and Logan Delaney of North Freedom brought the Field to green for the 25 lap A-Main with Zuch taking the early lead. Then on lap 6 Henry Vian of Sparta nosed inside Zuch and took over the point. Vian held the point until Lodi WI driver Steve Morgan found his way past Vian followed by Birdsill just past the halfway mark of the race. Mogan would hold the point until 5 to go when Birdsill made his move on the high side grabbing the lead and holding the point for the final five circuits to claim his first feature event of the year. Point leader Weber would finish in second with Morgan falling to third and Chad Smith of Davis Junction IL came home in fouth with Joey Pontbriand of Norway rounding out the top five. Earlier in the day is was Birdsill fastest in qualifying with a mark of 14.829 80.113mph. Morgan won the Incredible cars fast dash, Zuch claimed the heat race win.
