FENHAUS CAPTURES ICEBREAKER 100

Wisconsin Dells WI 4/18/21-Luke Fenhaus of Wausau WI bested a 42 car field and Won the 7th Annual ICEBREAKER 100 UMA Super Late Model Alive for 5 Series Round #1 Sunday Afternoon at Dells Raceway Park. Twenty Six of the Best UMA Super Late Model Drivers from 5 States were led to green by pole sitter Dalton Zehr and Jordan Thiel, Zehr took the early lead with defending Alive for 5 Series Champion Casey Johnson in tow. Johnson would keep Zehr's mirror full and eventually make the pass on the high side on lap 23 and take the lead. Johnson's time at the front would be short as Zehr battled back and contact was made coming out of turn two on lap 27 sending both drivers around and to the rear of the field. On the double file restart Jordan DeVoy would inherit the point with Jordan Theil on the outside pole once again as they took the green it was DeVoy now in command of the race. DeVoy would lead until lap 37 when the Young Gun from Wausau Luke Fenhaus took over the top spot. At the halfway mark it was Fenhaus collecting the $500 halfway Bonus from Service Specialists Inc of Sun Prairie followed by DeVoy, Theil, and the new shoe from California 16 yr old Jesse Love with last years National Short Track Champion Max Kahler rounding the top five. As the laps wore down Hubertus WI driver John DeAngelis Jr was on the move coming thru the field from the 19th starting spot to take second place from DeVoy but Fenhaus would prove to be to strong as he would sail away to the win collecting a total of $5575 for the Win, DeAngelis would have to settle for second, DeVoy third, Dan Fredrickson of Lakefield MN would come from 26th starting spot to finish fourth and Casey Johnson would recover from his lap 27 incident and round out the top five. Earlier in the day it was Jeff Storm of East Troy WI setting fast time with a mark of 13.146, Fast Dash Winners were Dalton Zehr (odd) and Jordan Theil (even), Michael Haggar of Hanover MN and Mike Lichtfeld of Portage captured the qualifying races, while Grant Griesbach of Waukesha and Billy Mohn of Lakeville MN captured the B-Mains. The UMA Super Late Models will be back in Action at Dells Raceway Park on Saturday June 5th for the Dairyland 100 with qualifying set for 4:30pm and Racing at 6pm, hope you can join us for another Exciting Alive for 5 Series Event.
