BURLINGTON, WI (Tuesday, May 26, 2009) – When the Race for the Gold Bronze Race was rained out back on April 25th it opened the door for a unique opportunity for a re-scheduled date. For the first time ever, two popular Midwest racing series will be competing at the same track on the same night.
The American Speed Association Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment’s season opening event was re-scheduled for this Saturday, May 30th at Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin Dells, WI. With the Mid-American Series already on the schedule, it opened the door for the two popular series to compete on the same night.
“Dells Raceway Park is all about entertaining the race fans, and for us to have both the ASAMT and the Mid-American Series competing on the same night, the fans will see some great racing action,” Joe Graziano, co-owner of Dells Raceway Park stated. “Both of these fields have very talented and popular drivers, so this will be a lot of fun.”
The ASAMT will be competing in a 125-lap feature event that will have a break at lap 75 to create a 50-lap shootout. This event is the first of three events to be held this season at Dells Raceway Park where the overall champion will receive $4,000 in pure gold. The other two events will be the Silver Race on Saturday, July 18th and the Gold Race on Saturday, September 12th.
The Mid-American Series will be making its first of two appearances at Dells Raceway Park this Saturday night with their “Dells Duel Part 1”, a 50-lap feature event. They will return to DRP for the “Dells Duel Part 2” on Saturday, July 25th.
The first ASAMT practice will take place at noon with the Mid-American cars practicing at 1:00 p.m. Second ASAMT practice at 1:45 p.m. and Mid-Ams will have there’s at 2:30 p.m.
Qualifying will get underway at 4:00 p.m for the ASAMT, 4:45 p.m. for the Mid-Ams. The autograph session will start at 5:30 p.m. Racing begins at 6:30 p.m.
Fan admission prices are $15 for adults, $10 for students (ages 10-15) and Seniors, Children (ages 6-9) are $5.00, ages 5 and under are FREE.
