WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (September 30, 2010) – Matt Panure will be joining Dells Raceway Park on a full-time basis beginning in the 2010 offseason. Panure has been hired as the new Marketing and Public Relations Director for the facility.
“I couldn’t be more excited for this tremendous opportunity,” Panure said. “To work full time in racing is something I had never expected, but always hoped could happen.”
“Dells Raceway Park has a spectacular show, two awesome announcers in Todd Behling and Mike Olson and a fantastic driver pool,” Panure said. “This is the place to be on Saturday nights.”
A recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay communications program, Panure plans to put his background in public relations to work. He has handled duties in PR and marketing for the Mid-American Stock Car Series since 2007.
“What I’m really looking forward to is using what I have learned, both through my education and experience, and applying it to what I’ll do here at DRP,” he said. Panure says he plans on working closely with drivers and teams to promote them as the faces of DRP.
“There are so many talented drivers here with stories to tell,” he said. “I want to give them a voice and give them an outlet to tell their stories. I want people to know what’s going on here.”
To get the word out Panure says he plans to work closely and form strong relationships with local media. He said he will also work to promote drivers within their communities.
“You never know who is living down the road from you; he or she might just be a star at the local race track,” Panure said. “I want to make sure people in the communities surrounding DRP know they have some local heroes, and that if they don’t make it to the track on Saturday night, they’re missing out.”
Panure also will be working closely with DRP co-owner Joe Graziano to create special promotions to keep the track abuzz. “We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves to keep the fans coming back and to put some new faces in the grandstand,” Panure said. “I can’t wait until the first green flag of 2011.”
