WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (September 23, 2010) – Julia Luther, Dells Raceway Park Marketing and Event Coordinator, is making the next step in her career. Luther has accepted a position with the Wisconsin Dells Visitors & Convention Bureau.
Luther will be the Communications Specialist and Event Manager for the Bureau. She begins her duties on Oct. 4.
“I’m really looking forward to a new challenge, but am really grateful for my time at DRP,” Luther said.
DRP co-owner Joe Graziano has worked closely with Luther over the past four seasons and says her departure is bittersweet. “We know this is a great opportunity for Julia, but it’s going to be hard to see her go.”
Upon her departure, Graziano says his appreciation for Luther’s contributions grew even more. “I knew she did a lot, I didn’t know she did that much,” he laughed. “I looked at the stack of files she deals with and just shook my head.”
However, Graziano is confident that Luther will remain an integral partner of DRP. “Being a part of the Visitors Bureau, we’ll be working even more closely with her now,” he said. “We look forward to the new relationships we’ll be able to form with Julia in the future.”
Although Luther will not be as visible of a presence as she was in the past, she said racing is in her blood and it’s there for good. “I will miss all the drivers, crews, and fans that I met with throughout the seasons,” she commented. “I’ll be coming back as a spectator on a frequent basis. You’ll see me at the track for sure.”
In fact, Luther is still planning the Dells Raceway Park banquet. She will help coordinate the event which takes place Saturday, Nov. 13 at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
