Small Cars Also Invited for Small Car Nationals

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (September 13, 2011) - Due to unforeseen circumstances Dells Raceway Park was forced to cancel the Small Car Nationals and Gladiator Enduro Series at this past Saturday's event. However, Mike Hennessey Owner of the Gladiator Enduro Series was resolute to make sure the event would happen.

Thanks to the persistence of Hennessey, the Gladiator Enduro Series event will, in fact, take place this Saturday, Sept. 17 at DRP. The Small Car Nationals, which were also on the original schedule, have been reinstated, as well.

Commitments for Saturday's race day have been received by the Gladiator Enduro Series and American Super Cups. The Legend Cars, Wisconsin Sport Trucks, FIRA, Rascal Outlaws and Mini Mods tentatively will join the two groups Saturday.

The Small Car Nationals and Gladiator Enduro were scheduled to be joined by the Bandit High Stakes Heist. However, the Heist was canceled after consultation at the drivers meeting on Saturday Sept. 10. The High Stakes Heist will not be reinstated for this Saturday's event.

Although the Heist was canceled, Bandit-type cars are welcome to run in the Warrior 4's division of the Gladiator Enduro Series.

A full schedule of events includes two practice sessions for the Small Car groups, one of which includes a qualifying session, and a practice session for the two classes of the Gladiator Enduro Series. The racing portion of the schedule consists of each of the Small Car divisions running heats and a feature event. The Gladiator Enduro Series will round out the afternoon with a 125-lap Enduro for the Warrior 4's and a 250-lap Enduro for the Battle Royal Pure Stocks/Outlaw Street Stocks.

Before the racing begins, fans will be welcome to take rides with drivers from the Baraboo Classic Car Club around DRP.

Fan gates open at noon this Saturday with practiced scheduled to begin at that time. Racing will begin at 2 p.m. A full schedule of events is listed below.

Special event pricing is available. Grandstand admission is $5 or two for $7. Ages 10 and under receive free admission. Concessions will be available for fans beginning at 1 p.m.
