WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (August 17, 2011) - On a day to showcase the up-and-coming stars of Dells Raceway Park, a capstone event for the Bandit division has been added to the Small Car Nationals on Sept. 17 at Dells Raceway Park.

Any Bandit-type car and driver that complies with Dells Raceway Park rules will be welcomed to join the Bandit High Stakes Heist at Wisconsin's Showcase Short Track. Rules are available at the DRP Web site's Divisions page.

In an offshoot of the theme set by the Alive For Five Super Late Model Series at DRP, all Bandit teams will be granted free entry to the pit area for the driver and one team member. The non-points event will feature an increased purse, pending sponsor contributions. Several drivers already have secured sponsorship for the event.

Any sponsor that makes a contribution to the High Stakes Heist purse will receive passes to the DRP VIP Suite for the event. The amount of passes will be based on the contribution.

Based on final car count the High Stakes Heist will feature an increase in track time for the Bandits. Each driver will qualify. A yet-to-be-determined number of cars will transfer from qualifying into the 35-lap feature event. Those two groups will be split into two qualifying races to determine their starting position. Those cars that do not qualify in through time trials will have several chances to qualify into the race - first through qualifying heat races, then through a last chance race.

Joining the High Stakes Heist will be seven divisions of small car action. The FIRA mini indys, Rascal Outlaws, Mini Mods, Wisconsin Sport Trucks, American Super Cups and Legend Cars will compete in program, as well. To round out the afternoon and the 2011 season, DRP brings in the group that started the season - the Gladiator Enduro Series.

Ticket pricing for the event will be announced at a later date. The pit area for the Bandit High Stakes Heist and Small Car Nationals opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. Practice is scheduled for 10 a.m. with qualifying at 11 and racing at noon.

The next event at Dells Raceway Park is this Saturday, Aug. 20. The Mid-American Stock Car Series returns for Dells Duel Part Two. James Swan won in thrilling fashion with a last-lap, last-corner pass of Bill Prietzel in June. Also fans will have the chance to sign up to win a trip in November for a NASCAR weekend courtesy of Boring Bob's Tours with MASCS racer Paige Decker and Decker Racing.

The Budweiser Late Models also return for the final four-week run to the Championship. The Pure Stock will have the night off and Legend Cars will also be a part of the program.

Dells Raceway Park is located at N1070 Smith Road, five minutes north of downtown Wisconsin Dells, Wis., off highway 12-16. For more information including the latest news, the 2011 schedule and more visit www.dellsracewaypark.com.
