DELLS RACEWAY PARK ANNOUNCES LABOR DAY OF DOOM EVENTS

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (August 17, 2011) - Dells Raceway Park has announced a preliminary schedule of events for the annual Labor Day of Doom on Sept. 4. The events include new chaos races never seen before at DRP and many of the popular events fans have come to love.

Several events have yet to be confirmed and will be added in the coming weeks.

Also returning will be the Demolition Devil for three of the craziest stunts from his arsenal. Two of his three events have been confirmed and a third is yet to be named. The Demolition Devil will jump a vehicle over an oncoming car with a ramp attached and later will jump a vehicle through a flaming camper.

Familiar fan favorite events returning to the third-mile track surface include:
Bus Races
Skid Plate Races
Trailer Race
Rollover Contest

New Chaos Events are as listed:

Car Hockey (Track Surface) - Black ice is just as nice. This is street hockey where no one worries if a car is coming. Two teams start back to back on the back straightaway pushing implement tires. One team (Team A) goes forward toward turn three and four, the other (Team B) toward turns two and one. Team A's "goal" is marked on the wall in turn one. Team B's is in turn three. The two teams must cross paths on the front stretch on their way to the goals.

Gauntlet Race (Track Surface) - Gauntlet Vehicle starts with three cars to the front, two to the side and three to the rear. The Gauntlet Vehicle must first break out of the middle then the "jam" cars have ten laps to try to disable it.

Musical Cars (Infield) - How frustrating is it to stare someone down for that last parking spot? There is no claim and no need to be polite here. This is Musical Chairs at a whole new level.

Back and Forth (Track Surface) - Anyone can turn going forward. Who is good enough to do it going backward? Twenty Drivers will take one lap forward, stop at the start finish line and take a lap in reverse. They will alternate forward and backward for 10-15 laps.

Duck, Duck, Goose (Track and Infield) -How about bringing another childhood game to a new level? Cars are aligned in the infield. One car is "it." He taps the car that is the "goose." The "goose" tries to catch the car and spin him out in two laps around the big track. If the "goose" spins out the "it" car, that car is eliminated at the "goose" is now "it." A crazy game of elimination.

Double "O" Races (Track and Infield) - "OH" MY! One lap around the big track then one lap around the little track with several intersections through the course. Who yields? Who doesn't?

In another twist for the Labor Day of Doom - drivers from DRP will be among the participants. Instead of the typical lefts on Saturday nights, drivers will be given the opportunity to let loose and enjoy a night where chaos is encouraged.

Anyone who wishes to participate in the Labor Day of Doom can contact the track office at 608-253-RACE or send an e-mail to info@dellsracewaypark.com. Rules and specification for the cars will be available through the track office.

Fan gates for the Labor Day of Doom open at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4 with the chaos beginning at 6 p.m. Normal Dells Raceway Park ticketing applies, $10 for adults, $7 for students (age 10 to 15) and seniors (62+) and children 9 and under receive free admission.
