With perfect racing weather and a full field of cars the stage was set for a great night of racing on Saturday Night.
Jeff Kendall started the evening out strong by setting fast time with a 13.460. Starting on the pole position in the feature, Jim Carlson had the early lead, but Tom Lichtfeld in the #75 was moving through the field. Lichtfeld took over the top spot on lap 18, but a caution flew soon after and brought the field back together. On the restart Lichtfeld stormed out front to another commanding lead. In the pack, Jeff Kendall was making his way through traffic and with one lap to go passed Kenny Richards for second. Tom Lichtfeld received the checkered flag and his first feature win of the 2009 season. Andrew Morrissey won the Fast Dash and Shane Morrissey and Don “Thunder” Turner won their heat races.
In the Limited Late Model division, Andrew Kulka kept up his fast qualifying streak with a 14.291. The dice roll and invert placed Corey Jankowski on the pole to start the feature. Jankowski and Rookie Davey Pennel battled tough for the first and second positions throughout the forty lap race but it was Jankowski who collected the checkers in the end. Heat Race winners were Ed Jackson and Mike Ehde.
With a 14.846 Mike Lichtfeld again set fast qualifying time in the super stock division for the eighth week in a row. Starting last during the feature, Mike patiently moved up positions and by lap 14 of the 30 lap feature he was in the lead with Kevin Kulka at his heels. Lichtfeld dominated the remaining laps and claimed another feature win. Kevin Kulka won the heat race.
Becky Grabarski set fast time this week in the Pure Stock division with at 16.386. In the feature Willy Schreiber took the early lead but got caught in a caution at lap 19 making room for Kevin Gilding to take the lead with Mark Hohl right behind him on the restart. With just six laps left in the feature Gilding charged on to take the checkered flag and at the last moment Daron Fish passed Hohl to take second. Al Kuphal and Adam Johnson won their heat races.
