WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (April 29, 2011) - Practice days at Dells Raceway Park will have a little something for everyone this season. The 49th season at the third-mile gets its unofficial start Saturday, May 7 and hosts another prelude the following Saturday, May 14.
Free grandstand admission will be offered to fans both days.
On May 7 fans are invited to participate in Practice and a Picnic Day at DRP. What better way to treat mom to an early Mother's Day than to give her a high-powered picnic? Fans are invited to bring the picnic basket, pop tent, tailgate material and anything else imaginable to display the most elaborate picnic setup. The most creative and elaborate setup will win four free passes to the season opener on May 21.
On May 14 fans will have a chance to get interactive with drivers and see some racing. When practice ends at 3:30 fans will be invited to mingle with the drivers during an autograph session. At 4 p.m. the first racing action of the season hits the track with the larger-than-life, quarter-sized Central Region Super Cups. After the Super Cups run their program, the track will be opened for an I-94-like traffic jam with the Midwest Enduro Series.
Dells Raceway Parks officially gets its 49th season of racing under way on Saturday, May 21. The evening's events begin with the Automotion Burnout contest at 5:30. In addition, the Vintage Cars will be joining the four weekly DRP classes. Qualifying is at 3:30, Racing is at 6:30.
