WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (January 13, 2011) - Super late model drivers will be introduced to a new plan of attack to bring the class back to Dells Raceway Park on Saturday. The plan will be discussed at the meeting at Leo's Upper Dells Bar in Lyndon Station at 1 p.m.

After the December 18 meeting Dells Raceway Park officials and drivers had agreed upon significantly reducing the cost of entry for race teams with little or no purse to be had. Since that time DRP officials have consulted with several race teams and changed the plan of attack.

Through conversation drivers have notified officials that although racing at reduce costs would help ease financial burden, they still hoped for a base purse. Officials will propose a way to achieve this base purse through sponsorship provided by a joint marketing effort by both the track and group of racers. Officials will also provide an incentive to drivers to market themselves by offering a gate contingency based on fan attendance.

Drivers who are unable to bring sponsorship contributions to a general fund, which will be used for the super late model purse, will still be welcome to race at the facility. Those who do make contributions will be rewarded with perks from the track such as VIP passes for their sponsors, tickets and extra pit passes, etc.

All drivers and teams planning to race at DRP in 2011 are encouraged to attend and have their voices heard.
